BK Prostejov defeated Galil Elyon 92-88 to record their second game in the EuroCup Challenge.
The win wouldn’t come easy as Gail had a chance to tie or take the lead with 28 seconds remaining in the contest.
Avishai Gordon mis-fired on a potential go-ahead three-point attempt and Lamar Butler snared the rebound with eight seconds to go in the contest.
Butler was immediately fouled and came through in the clutch by making both free-throws, giving him 22 for the game. More importantly, his free throws made it a two-possession game and essentially sealed his team’s win.
Prostejov had led by as many as 18 in the first half, but Galil wouldn’t go away.
Cameron Crisp had a terrific all-around performance for the victors with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
In other EuroCup Challenge action, St Johns alum Omar Cook had 20 points and nine assists as CSK-VVS Samara won their second game with an 89-78 win over Tartu Rock.
Tarvis Williams exploded for 26 points in Mlekarna’s 91-80 victory over Holmen Norrköping.
Williams had just six points in his team’s opening triumph.
The winning side also improved to 2-0 on the season.
"I am of course glad that we won, although we had problems stopping the breaks and the 3-pointers from Holmen," said Mlekarna head coach Zdenek Hummel.
"We played better in the second half, making less mistakes. It was an important win."
