Ural Great Perm go into Thursday's EuroCup Challenge final on the back of a 12th win of the Russian Superleague season.
Sharon Drucker's side beat Spartak 78-76 to retain 6th place in the Superleague with a 12-8 record.
Terrell Lyday and Vasili Karasev scored 16 points each for the hosts, while Virgil Stanesku was the game`s top scorer with 21 points and 13 rebounds for Spartak.
Drucker chose to praise his opponents, saying:
"We were expecting the game to be difficult. I can say only good words about Spartak head coach (Algirdas) Brazis who did good work with his team.
"They play with discipline, the players know their roles and I`m not surprised Spartak played very well against Dynamo Moscow and beat Dynamo St Petersburg.
"We played well in the fourth quarter - we couldn't do that during the first three quarters.
"We`ve missed Lyday who left the court with five fouls but (Jurica) Golemac took responsibility with his last shot and decided the game." |
