Mlekarna Kunin are confident they can hit back and win their FIBA Europe Cup Men quarter-final tie against Lokomotiv Rostov after losing the first leg 69-68.

"It is a pity," said captain Milan Dvorak. "We played well and we had a chance to win when we had a lead until the last minute."

Kunin led at every break, even taking a 10-point advantage into the final quarter, but were unable to hold on.

We still have a chance. We need to win the second game by two points and that is all.

"We were under pressure in the final minutes and our players were tired," Dvorak said.

"We played well and our team showed that it is possible to beat Rostov.

"We still have a chance. We need to win the second game by two points and that is all.

"Nothing is lost right now. I think that we can do it."

Veteran shooting guard Fred Warrick scored a game-high 27 points for the Czech Republic side while forward Lee Matthews drilled 18 for the Russians.

The two teams face each other in Rostov for the second game on Saturday.
