BC Gala 88 vs. MBC Nikolaev 89

Oleksandr Rayevskyy's driving lay-up with 6 seconds on the clock was enough for MBC Nikolaev to steal victory from BC Gala (Azerbaijan) in the FIBA Europe Cup.

Gala's Bobby Burries had one final chance for victory but his last second shot fell short.

MBC Nikolaev were only just able to withstand a furious fightback from the home side. At the midway point in the third quarter the Ukrainians led by as many as 14 points. But the fightback began before the end of the third, when 6 straight points from Burries brought Gala back into contention.

With the sell-out crowd 100% behind them, Gala were able to impose their will on Nikoalev and with just 59 seconds on the clock, they led by 8 points.

The game's most costly error was committed by Gala guard Darius Lukminkas. His offensive foul gave Rayevskyy 2 free throws and although he made only one, it was enough to cap a 8-0 run which saw Nikoalev down by one point, 88-87.

On the next possession, Rayevskyy scored again to complete the comeback.

Olexiy Onufriyev had 19 points for Nikolaev, while Burries scored 33 points in Gala's losing effort.
