GAME REPORT

BC Valmiera Rujiena 88 Dynamo Moscow Region 91

The first game of the Northern Conference Final Four was very exciting. Thanks to Dynamo's great game strategy, their advantage became evident pretty soon.

Shortly after the beginning, they led by 10 points, but Valmiera didn't give up so soon. The Latvians followed their coach's advice and decreased the gap to four points. With six minutes left to play, Valmiera took the lead with 78:77 after a three pointer of Andris Umbrasko.

The most thrilling moment of the game was 10 seconds before the end. Andrius Vysniauskas (Dynamo) made a rebound and passed to Taylor who was fouled immediately.

Only one of the two free throws went in so that the score was 88:91. Bergmanis (Valmiera) tried a three pointer but missed the basket so that Dynamo were the lucky winners.

MVP: Johnny Taylor

Quotes BC Valmiera Rujiena - Dynamo Moscow Region

Varis Krumins, Head Coach, BC Valmiera Rujiiena:

"The beginning was awful. Our team is very young and unexperienced. There are no such teams as Dynamo Moscow Region in Latvia. We lost our leaders at the end of the game and this is one of the reasons why we lost."

Evgeniy Kovalenko, Head coach, Dynamo Moscow Region:

"We studied our opponents very well. But we have got many problems recently. One of the main playmakers of our team, Joric, was injured. Becaosue of this, we were very nervous before and about ths game."
