Avtodor’s forwards Wilson (29 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocked shots) and Chevel tried to help Avtodor to come back, but their individual initiatives could not help to beat Valmiera/Rujiena as a team.
The strong play of the home team, who hit 12 of their 24 three pointers (50 %) in the game, continued in the third quarter, when Valmiera/Rujiena pulled away from Saratov, leading by 20 points after 29 minutes. The last quarter was just formal. At the end Avtodor could close the gap to 10 points but not any further.

Varis Krūmiņš, Head Coach, BC Valmiera/Rujiena:
“I’m glad my team played with consistency and very good effort tonight against a strong opponent. I am very happy about the game and the result, but I’m not satisfied about the free throw percentage, especially in the fourth quarter. The gap could have been bigger.”
