After the confident win over Russian EURAS a week ago Rock Tartu tried to secure their first place in group C, but Khimik Yuzhny buried their hopes with a confident win (95-52).
Already the first minutes of the game were disappointing for the Estonian guests: Khimik led fast 7-0 and some minutes later 15-2, and the home team didn’t show any weaknesses until the end of the first quarter (24-12).
The hosts were even more successful in the second quarter and dominated the game totally. Yuzhny increased the margin to 28 points (51-23).
It didn’t take long in the second half to prove that Khimik wasn’t going to slow down: 53% ball control time, successful attacks of Andriy Korochkin and Serhiy Lishchuk (22 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocks) resulted in a 38-point lead after 30 minutes.
Even though Rock was more successful in the last quarter, where they scored 19 of therir 52 points, there was no second of doubt that Khimik will win this game.
Game-MVP: Serhiy Lishchuk
