U16 WOMEN DIVISION B
Finland and Poland both prevailed on Tuesday to remain unbeaten at the U16 European Championship Women Division B in Tallinn.
Portugal and Bulgaria, meanwhile, won tight games.
The Finns made it look easy in their Second Round triumph over Israel, winning the Group E clash, 85-39.
Tuuli Menna turned on the style again by scoring 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Menna has averaged 17.4 points and 9.6 rebounds for Finland in their five victories.
POLAND CLAIM FIFTH WIN
Poland had to work a lot harder to claim their fifth success, a 64-60 Group F win over Latvia.
Karolina Pobozy, who is pouring in 15.2 points and grabbing 9.8 rebounds per game, had 22 and 10 against the Latvians.
Latvia battled back from a 13-point deficit early in the fourth quarter and closed the gap to 63-60 on a jumper by Digna Strautmane with just 56 seconds remaining.
The Poles held their nerve.
Latvia's Kitija Laksa missed two potential game-tying three-balls as Poland held on.
"It was a tough game because of the big difference in heights," Latvia coach Mudite Zandere said.
"Our main point guard was injured and also one of our centers got injured during the game.
"At the end, we missed out on couple of shots.
"I praise the girls for fighting until the end. Our team has character.
"We'll continue fighting."
Both Finland and Poland have sealed places in the Quarter-Finals.
The Latvians are 2-2 and face Luxembourg (1-3) on Wednesday.
Belarus (0-4) fell to Luxembourg 85-69 on Tuesday with Lisa Jablonowski doing a little bit of everything for the winners.
She finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and four steals - all team highs.
"We had some trouble in the beginning of the game," Luxembourg coach Thierry Kremer said.
"I guess we were not really ready to play and perhaps took the game too easily.
"After the break, we came back and we were ready to play.
"This is such a young team and you can see, they play with their hearts."
PORTUGAL ADVANCE TO QUARTER-FINALS
In one of the best games of the tournament, Portugal edged Lithuania 46-44 in Group E and sealed their place in last eight.
Portugal had a dream start, leading 17-2 with 3:40 left in the first quarter.
The Baltic side battled back and pulled to within two late in the second quarter only for Portugal to again go in front by 12 in the third period.
Midway through the fourth quarter, the Portuguese seemed to be in command with a 45-34 lead but Lithuania rallied with a 10-0 run to trail by a point with 13 seconds left.
Portugal then turned the ball over but Laura Juskaite, whose jumper had reduced the arrears to 45-44, missed a shot and Portugal added a free-throw for the two-point win.
Simone Costa had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists for Portugal but turned the ball over eight times.
Bulgaria surprised Slovenia in Group F, 56-52, as Borislava Hristova scored 24 points and hauled in eight rebounds.
