France And Ukraine Prevail

France capped off their perfect start to the tournament with an 81-42 humiliation of Greece.

Alexia Plagnard and Laurie Datchy had 12 points apiece and Maité Barras poured in 12 for the French, who were runners-up to Spain at the last U16 European Championship Women.

France led 21-12 after the first quarter and virtually sealed victory in the second period, outscoring their opponents 27-5 for a 48-17 lead at the break.

Ukraine defeated Croatia 64-57 behind 26 points from 1.87m power forward Kateryna Dorogobuzova and snatched second place on a tie-breaker.

Ukraine, the Croatians and Greece all had 1-2 records, but Ukraine had a superior goal differential in the games between the three sides.
