Career: Toledo (USA-NCAA Div. 1, 2008-09).
Surely one of the most unique stories in women basketball, Shafir comes from a religious Jewish house, but has found a way to combine both worlds, that also included a special approval from her Rabbi to wear shorts. Under coach Rabbi she will try to show that entire long path was worth it. She was marked as a great prospect from a very early age, playing on boys teams at an early age because she was way too good for the girls' level. Her superiority continued last year when she was the top scorer of the U18 Division B championship with 21 ppg. This year, while playing for Toledo in the NCAA, she proves even in her freshman year she can be a key player with 11.7 points and 4.5 assists per game.
