Ala Murauskaya is one of several Gorizont Youth Sports School products who decided to go to Russia at an early stage of her career. Despite winning the Superleague-B title in 2004, Murauskaya soon had to return to Belarus. The following opportunity to sign abroad presented itself two years later when Ala joined Arvi Marijampole. The 2007-08 season, her first with the Lithuanian side, was hampered by injuries, but a year later she's finally started to live up to her potential. In 2008-09 Murauskaya averaged 4.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in EuroCup Women and 7.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the Baltic Women's Basketball League.
