Kristine Karklina

Career: TTT/Rapa (Latvia-LSBL, 1998-2000), Rapa/Rigas zieds (Latvia-LSBL, 2000-01), RTU/Klondaika (Latvia-LSBL, 2001-02), Stade Poitevin (France-NF2, 2002-08), SK Cesis (Latvia-LSBL, 2008-09)

Kristine Karklina is a quick combo guard with good defensive skills. She has been representing Latvia at the highest youth level, including at the U21 FIBA World Championship. But she is still very raw with the senior national team. At only 16, Karklina became champion of Latvia with her club side TTT/Rapa. But she then chose to spend some years in France, at a lower level, giving her priority to her studies rather than to basketball. Last fall, Karklina went back to Latvia and join SK Cesis as the starting point guard. There, Kristine gave a considerable contribution for a team winning the trophy in the Latvian league and reaching the playoffs in the EuroCup Women. She can play at both guard positions and coaches praise her good team spirit and work ethic.
