Hungary, Slovakia Advance To Final, Division A
Hungary and Slovakia landed big semi-final victories at the U16 European Championship Women Division B in Skopje, Saturday, earning a place in the final and, at the same time, promotion to Division A.
Hungary booked a spot in Division A with a convincing 65-50 win over England.
The English struggled in this game shooting a poor 26.7 percent from the field and that was way too low against ungary, who have been one of the most consistent teams in the tournament.
Regina Pap had a game high 20 points while Janice Monakana posted 16 points and 16 rebounds for England.
In the other semi-final Slovakia defeated Portugal 62-53. The winners were more aggresive and made their free throws at crunch time. Overall htey hit 13 of their 18 free throws. Four Slovakia players scored in double digits.
In Classification Round games Romania fell short against Bulgaria (50-52) while Germany posted a 51-36 win over Slovenia. Bulgaria and Germany will meet in the game for fifth place. Romania and Slovenia will face off in the game for seventh place.
