An impressive double-double in points and rebounds from Anne Pedersen helped Denmark defeat Israel to take top spot in Group A at the U16 European Championship Division B in Bulgaria.

Pedersen had 15 points and 14 rebounds as the Danes won 51-50 for their third straight success.

Greece beat Portugal 56-42 in the group's other game.

Dimitra Kampouraki scored 13 points and came up with four steals for Greece, who are 2-1 while the Portuguese dropped to 2-2.

Rebeka Abramovic's 26 points and eight steals led the way for Slovenia in their 60-53 victory over Luxembourg in Group B.

Hosts Bulgaria edged a close encounter against Switzerland, 52-47.

Dora Sevova had 14 points for the Bulgarians and also came up with four steals.

Ireland, who lead the group at 3-0, did not play on Monday.

Slovenia and Bulgaria are both 2-1 and the Swiss are 1-2.

Luxembourg have lost all four of their games.

There was no action in Groups C or D.
