Greece Take U16 B Title

Greece capped a magnificent tournament in Bulgaria by winning the title at the U16 European Championship for Women Division B.

Artemis Spanou scored 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Greeks won over Slovenia, 56-47.

Trailing 17-15 at the end of the first quarter, Greece outscored the Finns 19-9 over the next 10 minutes for an eight-point lead at half-time.

They stretched the advantage to 50-31 by the end of the third quarter and were never in danger of losing after.

Anette Juvonen scored 16 points and came up with three steals for Finland.

In the battle for third place, Romania defeated Slovenia 70-56.

Alexandra Ionescu poured in 17 points for the winners.
