Italy Beat Germany To Claim Gold

Italy have won the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women Division B final after securing a workmanlike 64-55 victory over Germany.

The Italians edged a tight first half by just three points, 34-31, and after finding themselves unable to pull away in an evenly matched third quarter (16-16), finally stamped their authority on the game in the final period.

Italy, Germany To Contest Final

Germany and Italy will contest the final of the U16 European Championship Women on Sunday after seeing off Slovenia and Israel in their respective semi-finals on Saturday.

The Germans edged home 69-67 against the Slovenians following a 28-17 showing in the final quarter.
