Spain March To Third Straight Title

Spain retained the Under-16 European Championship for Women by just two points in an entralling contest with the Czech Republic.

Marta Tudanca led the way for the Spaniards as they claimed their third consecutive title following wins in 2004 and 2005.

Bartonova Elected MVP

Czech Republic point guard Katerina Bartonova was chosen as MVP of the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women.

It has been a busy summer for the 174 cm Bartonova, who although just 16, played a part in Czech Republic's fourth placed finish at the Umcor U18 European Championship Women in Tenerife.

Lithuania Claim Bronze

Aurime Rinkeviciute capped a fine overall performance at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women with 37 points in the bronze medal game to lead Lithuania to an 84-72 win over Serbia & Montenegro.

Rinkeviciute's 37-point haul was the highest among all players in the tournament.
