Defending champions Spain booked their place in the final of the Women's Under-16 European Championships on Saturday with a tense 51-49 victory over Turkey.
A strong first-half performance proved vital for the Spanish, who then held off a late fightback from their opponents to keep alive their chances of lifting a second successive title.
Forward Laura Herrera top-scored with 13 points and 13 rebounds for Spain as they took control in the opening two quarters to secure a 25-19 advantage at the halfway stage.

Laura Nicholls also contributed 13 rebounds and the Spanish looked to be on course for a convincing victory.
However, Turkey rallied in the final quarter, led by 16 points and eight rebounds from point guard Ilknur Dumlu.
The Turks managed to draw level with the reigning champions with seconds left on the clock, but Spain were awarded two free throws as Alba Torrens held her nerve to make both and secure the win.
