Maria Pina

An exciting prospect, Pina is getting her first taste of the top level. Estudiantes is the perfect place for a young player like her as they believe in developing skills (she played 32 minutes scoring 7.0 ppg). However, this season hasn’t gone as expected due to team injuries and a low budget. Pina has the physical qualities to excel and takes good shots but she can’t be considered a reliable shooter, though she is a solid defender and an excellent rebounder even after recovering from a severe ACL tear. Laura Camps’ injury last summer allowed her to travel to Brazil and play her first official minutes for the National Team. Everyone expects Pina to be a part of every international competition from now on.
