Career: MENT (Greece-A2 and A1, 1996-2004), APS Siemens (Greece-A1, 2004-07)
Stavridou looks to be one of the guards that will lead Greece into the future. The 21-year-old was born in Thessaloniki and learned the secrets of her sport at MENT. Since 2004, she has played for Siemens, another Thessaloniki team, reaching the Greek Cup Final Four last season. Her first appearance on the National Team was at EuroBasket Women 2005, whereas the same summer, she returned home with a fourth-place finish at the U20 European Championship in Czech Republic. Coach Missas didn’t include her in the qualifying squad fighting to get to EuroBasket Women 2007, but she should be in Italy. Speed, penetration and defense would be the scouting report on Stavridou. She averaged 8.0 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for Siemens.
