MKB Euroleasing Sopron thrilled the home fans with an 88-76 victory over Lotos Gdynia to put the Hungarian club within touching distance of a place in the next phase of the EuroLeague Women.
Angel McCoughtry had 32 points and Zane Tamane 20 as Sopron improved to 4-2 in Group B while sentencing Lotos to a fifth defeat in six games.
The Polish club turned the ball over 21 times, including a game-high five by Latvia guard Elina Babkina.
The game was knotted at 35-35 with 3:15 to in the first half after a basket by Poland international Daria Mieloszynska.
Tamane put Sopron in front with a free-throw and they closed the half on a 6-2 spurt for a 41-37 advantage.
Lotos kept the game close with Mieloszynska's three-pointer at the end of the third cutting the Sopron advantage to 66-63.
The hosts, spurred on by a raucous home crowd, reeled off six straight points to start the fourth quarter with baskets from Amber Holt, McCoughtry and Tijana Krivacevic (16 points).
They kept their noses in front for the remainder of the contest.
Sopron finished 18 of 23 (78.2%) at the line while Lotos were nine of 15 (60%).
Monica Wright had 23 points in defeat.
