Scoonie Penn, then Tucker and Penn again hit three-pointers at the start of the scoring explosion that allowed the home side to establish control.

The visitors from Turkey did managed to claw their way back and trail 35-29 late in the second quarter after a three-point play by big center Hüseyin Besok , one of the standout performers in the EuroChallenge this season.

Kyiv opened up a 44-33 lead by half-time, however, and a 10-0 run to start the third quarter that was capped by three-balls from Manuchar Markoishvili and Drozdov saw the hosts grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
