Lithuania and Poland will fight it out for ninth spot on the penultimate day of the U20 European Championship Women in Debrecen.
Poland eventually overcame Serbia in an epic 72-66 double-overtime affair having blown a great chance to take the win during regulation.
They had led by double-digits at 39-29 early in the fourth quarter but Serbia wouldn't lie down and came storming back to take the game into overtime with a score from Emese Vida although Magdalena Zietara had the last shot to get the job done in forty minutes for the Poles.
It was then Serbia who looked well placed to win the game at 58-56 but a lay-up by Martyna Stelmach forced another extra period.
When Monika Jasnowska scored a triple to help Poland finally put some daylight between themselves and their opponent, they managed to hold on for the victory this time.
Stelmach stood out with 18 points and eight rebounds while Natasa Kovacevic finished with an efficient 15 points for the losing team.
Meanwhile Lithuania took a narrow 57-54 success against the Slovak Republic in another thriller as both teams blew big leads during the game to lead to an exciting conclusion.
Lithuania moved 56-51 in front with just 12 seconds left, but a fourth triple by Marta Palenikova caused a nervous last few seconds as Laura Svaryte made the free-throw to ultimately win the game as the Slovak Republic failed to get a last ditch shot off to force overtime.
Svaryte finished with 15 points and seven rebounds while Monika Grigalauskyte claimed a double-double.
