|Artemis Spanou set the tempo again for Greece with a 13-rebound, 10-rebound double-double|
Greece made sure their country competes in the Division A next summer, after holding off winless Hungary 59-49 in their classification games for 9th to 16th place clash at the U20 European Championship Women on Friday.
With a defensive effort that allowed only four points in the second quarter, Greece took control of the encounter.
Anastasia Slouka drained triples to start and to end the frame, helping Greece hold a 24-19 halftime lead they never relinquished. Hungary remained close throughout the game, and was within three points (54-51) with a little over three minutes remaining, but Vasiliki Tarla nailed a triple to seal the deal.
In a close victory, a 30-20 points-in-paint advantage really made difference for the Greeks.
Artemis Spanou led Greece with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Slouka netted 11, while Anthoula Chatzigiakoumi chipped with 10 points.
Szidónia Katona had 13 points for Hungary which needs to win their next two games in order to survive in Division A.
