Another classy and powerful performance by Spain handed them a spot in the Quarter-Finals of the U18 European Championship Women after an early onslaught helped blow out fellow medal-hopefuls Turkey, 78-53.

Barely missing a beat from their brutal dismantling of Russia in their previous game, Spain were unstoppable during the early exchanges, as they scored the first twelve points of the contest.

Whilst Turkey did hit back from their nightmare start with a 14-5 run of their own, Spain brushed that aside as little more than a blip and they picked Turkey apart with impressive efficiency.

Even the talented Turkish backcourt of Merve Aydin and Pelin Bilgic found Spain far too hot to handle at both ends of the floor and for the most part, it was one-way traffic with the Spanish looking decidedly smoother and more aggressive throughout.

It was another truly satisfying team performance from the Spanish perspective with Elena De Alfredo and Maria Arrojo the pick of the bunch, both scoring 18 points.

The result means that there is now only one quarter-final spot left in Group E with the winner of tomorrow's match-up between Russia and Sweden guaranteed to reach the last eight.
