A blistering third quarter performance by Serbia paved the way for a 75-63 Second Round victory against Croatia in Group F of the U18 European Championship Women.
In an enjoyable first half, Croatia had done a fine job without the influential Ivana Tikvic to manoeuvre themselves into a 38-35 advantage, but it was a different story after the break.
Serbia came out of the locker rooms and simply caught fire and a shell-shocked Croatia couldn't recover.
With a visible uplift in their defensive game, which was absent during the first-half, Serbia managed to force their opponent into plenty of turnovers and that was the foundation for a bunch of transition scores during a 21-7 third period when they took complete control.
Any notion of a Croatian comeback in the final period was swiftly extinguished when Serbia started the last quarter in similar vein, with a triple by playmaker Aleksandra Stanacev.
That trey sparked a 12-6 run which put Serbia out of sight for good.
Stanacev was an important figure throughout the game, winning her battle with opposite number Lana Packovski by finishing the game with 19 points and eight assists.
