Croatia center Ivana Tikvic was a dominant force, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks
The return of center Ivana Tikvic proved to be the perfect tonic for Croatia who bounced back from their loss to Serbia by overpowering Italy 75-56 in Round Two of the U18 European Championship Women.
Tikvic claimed a classy double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds and added an astonishing seven blocked shots.
With point guard Lana Packovski also in irresistible form, pouring in 20 points off some outrageously good shooting percentages, Croatia had too much both in the backcourt and frontcourt for the Italians.
The result means that both teams still have an opportunity to advance to the Quarter-Finals of the competition although perhaps Italy will be worried at the way they have slipped to a third straight loss.
Croatia dominated the first-half, racking up a convincing 14-point lead as the teams headed to the locker rooms.
Although Italy came out with an improved display when they returned to the court, Croatia put their foot on the accelerator during the last ten minutes.
Italy just couldn't live with the superior ball movement and inside-outside offensive threat of their opponent - despite the best efforts of Elisa Penna, who finished with 22 points.
