Serbia and Spain fell one step short from making it to the final today, after suffering defeats in the semi-finals.

However, the Serbians will be much more disappointed to be playing for bronze medals after starting the tournament with seven straight wins before being handed the first defeat on Saturday.

The Serbs had edged Latvia in their quarter-final match-up, but were outsmarted by Lithuania in the semi-final, losing the game 68-73 after a thrilling battle.

Bogdan Bogdanovic leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game, also averaging 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Nenad Miljenovic provides a good boost off the bench with an average of 11.9 points, while Aleksandar Cvetkovic holds the playmaking duties.

Aleksandar Dzikic's side ranks second in scoring in the tournament with 78 points per game, while Spain is fourth with an average of 73.1.

Fast-paced Spain proved to be stronger than Germany in the quarter-final, but then went on to lose to France 59-66 in the semi-final and will have to settle for the bronze-medal game.

Real Madrid wing man Daniel Diez is the top scorer for Spain with 15 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, Jaime Fernandez has an average of 11.9 points, while last year's U18 MVP Alejandro Abrines chips in with 11.4 points per game.

Spain ranks second in points allowed with 62.9 points, but the Serbians are close behind in the third place with an average of 63.3.
