|No time to blink - Gezim Morina released this hook-shot with 0.9 seconds on the clock to give Slovenia the win and a place in the Quarter-Finals|
Slovenia big man Gezim Morina released a hook-shot with 0.9 seconds on the clock for his team to reach an improbable victory over Turkey and clinch a berth in the U20 European Championship Quarter-Finals.
The hosts showed fighting spirit and resilience to come back and beat Turkey, 72-71, at the final buzzer.
They clinched the top spot in Group F and extended their winning streak to five games in the process.
Turkey, shooting close to 60 percent from the field, were leading 60-56 entering into the last frame.
They had every reason to believe in the win but Slovenia, propelled by the local crowed, stepped up their defensive effort and allowed them to score only 11 points in the final quarter.
With less than four seconds on the clock, Klemen Prepelic drove to the basket and passed to Gezim Morina who didn't even blink while rising for the buzzer-beating hook-shot.
Prepelic was the star of the night, scoring 29 points, with significant help from Morina, who finished the game with 13 points and six rebounds.
Alen Omic added 12 points and nine boards.
Berkay Candan had a team-high 15 points for Turkey, who couldn't hold on to the lead late in the game after Ramazan Tekin had given them a 71-70 advantage.
Turkey will need a victory against Lithuania on the last day of the Second Round to clinch a quarter-final berth, while Slovenia will try to extend their winning streak to six games, against Spain.
