Montenegro delivered another dominant display on Friday to reach a comfortable 91-65 win over Sweden and qualify to the Second Round of the Sportland U20 European Championship with three wins in as many games in Group B.
Sweden now face a decisive encounter against Croatia on Saturday and will qualify if they emerge victorious, regardless of Ukraine's results in their remaining two games.
The Montenegrins, who have the second-most stingy defence of the tournament in Tallinn after the first four days of action, shifted gears midway through the opening quarter and outscored the Scandinavians 19-3 in its last six minutes to grab a 26-9 lead.
They forced Sweden to shoot at a meagre 25 percent from the field throughout the following two quarters and by the end of the third stanza they had taken a 70-38 advantage to effectively secure the win with 10 minutes to spare.
The victors out-rebounded their opponents 50-38 and scored twice as much points in the paint, 54 to Sweden's 26.
Montenegro center Danilo Nikolic collected 19 points and seven rebounds, tournament-leading scorer Marko Mugosa was not so accurate from the three-point line this time around but still contributed 17 points, while Masan Vrbica finished with 15 points and five rebounds.
For Sweden, Hannes Erhardt picked up 11 points, Jesper Eliasson had 10 points and Arvid Isaksson nine points and nine rebounds in losing efforts.
