Belgium Take First Place Over Hungary

U16 WOMEN

Belgium clinched first place in Group A of the U16 European Championship Women after beating hosts Hungary, 58-37.

Both teams had already secured their spot in the Qualifying Round, having won their first two games respectively.

The Hungarian fans, present in big numbers at the Generali Arena, rooted for one more victory of their team.

After a rough start, with Agnés Dobos committing three fouls in the first 12 minutes, Hungary let the Belgians escape.

Very well organized and committed, Arvis Diels' team sealed a victory that makes Belgium a serious contender in the Qualifying Round.

Andrea Kovacs, the Hungarian head coach let her bench players gain precious experience before facing teams like Russia in the next round.

Eva Devliegher, with 12 points, and Laeticia Mpoyi with a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds, were the most remarkable players on the winning side, while Agnés Dobos had seven points and seven rebounds for Hungary in only 20 minutes of play.
