Having lost their opening game meant nothing for the Czech Republic as they overcame Croatia, 65-59, to clinch their second win in a row and finish second in Group C of the U16 European Championship Women.
Ivana Dojkic showed, once more, to be the uncontested Croatian team leader, scoring eight of her 21 points while Croatia finished the first quarter leading, 18-15.
But the Czech Republic had completely different plans for this afternoon in the University Sports Hall.
With four players scoring in double digits, the Czechs had successive runs in the second and third quarter to obtain a lead that reached 13 points.
The efficient shooting selection by the Czech team made the difference, with the Croatians failing to score any three-point shots.
Sarah Berankova finished as the best Czech scorer, with 14 points, while Gabriela Andelova had another classy performance with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Both teams advance to the Qualifying Round and will compete for a spot in the Quarter-Finals.
