Croatia had a perfect start to their U16 European Championship Women campaign, beating England 67-42 in the Group C opening match.
In the University Sports Hall, the Croatians took an early lead and left no room to the English team to recover, with a 23 points advantage at half time (39-16).
In their first U16 Women Division A match, the English were struggling to find a way to the basket, taking long periods with no points scored.
The English had a chance to show some quality during the fourth period, when the Croatian team started rotating their players.
Ivana Djokic was the Croatian top scorer with 22 points, with Patricia Bura playing also an important role in their victory, scoring seven points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Leah McDerment was the leading English player, with 10 points and eight rebounds.
