Alba Torrens – Spain and Galatasaray

The FIBA Europe Young Player of the Year 2009 made a smooth transition to become a real star on senior level as well when she led Salamanca to a much celebrated EuroLeague Women triumph, averaging a team-high 15.8 points. Consequently, the tall and quick wing player was crowned Final Four MVP in April after a cinderella-story season that also saw Salamanca finish top of the domestic standings. After showing flashes of brilliance at EuroBasket Women, when her Spain team was eliminated early, she joined Galatasaray to chase consecutive EuroLeague Women silverware.
