Majestic Welcome For French Champions



Having competed in more EuroBaskets than any other country, France had to wait for their 36th participation to finally lift the coveted trophy.

Their long journey came to an end on Sunday, their triumph giving an entire nation reason to celebrate.

The newly crowned European champions were given a majestic welcome upon their arrival at Paris airport on Monday, with hundreds of photographers and TV crews following their steps.

A special rendezvous awaited the players and coaching staff at the Élysée Palace, as the President of the French Republic, Francois Hollande, wanted to congratulate them personally on the historical success.
