AeroSvit Airlines: 18th year in air carriages market
AeroSvit - Ukrainian Airlines was established in 1994 and became one of the first Ukrainian air carriers to offer passengers flights with comfortable aircraft, quality service and up-to-date safety standards.
As of today AeroSvit - Ukrainian Airlines is Ukraine's largest air carrier, which continues active route network expansion, fleet enhancement and implementation of modern passenger service technologies.
AeroSvit, with its hub at Kyiv-Boryspil Airport, is operating on 80 international routes, including 7 long-haul destinations.
The airline provides passenger carriages between Ukrainian cities and destinations in 34 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Georgia, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the USA, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
AeroSvit also carries passengers to Ukraine's largest regional administrative centers, including Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odesa, Simferopol and Kharkiv.
AeroSvit supplemented its own network of flights with routes of foreign and Ukrainian partner airlines, with which over 20 code-share agreements, about 150 interline agreements and about 60 special prorate agreements have been contracted.
Strengthening cooperation, the Ukrainian airline provided its passengers with the possibility to travel to thousands of destinations in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and Australia with one AeroSvit's ticket.
In 2012 AeroSvit commenced its medium-haul fleet renewal program in framework of the largest complex order for Next Generation aircraft in Ukraine. In March-May 2012 the first two Boeing 737-800NG (out of 11 aircraft, ordered by AeroSvit) were delivered to the carrier directly from Boeing Company's production facilities in Seattle (US). All 11 Next Generation 737 aircraft will be delivered in the period from 2012 to 2016 and will be outfitted with the Boeing Sky Interior, providing passengers with the highest level of comfort in its class.
At present AeroSvit is operating 27 aircraft manufactured by Boeing Company, including 8 long-haul Boeing 767 and 19 medium-haul Boeing 737 as well as making use of partner carriers' equipment namely Airbus 320, Airbus 321, Embraer 195 and Embraer 145 aircraft.
AeroSvit is a member of International Air Transport Association since 1996 and Association of European Airlines since 2008.
The airline was among the first carriers in Eastern Europe that satisfied IOSA requirements (IATA Operational Safety Audit) and successfully confirms every second year its safety standards through independent IOSA audits, including the latest in 2011, after which AeroSvit prolonged its IOSA operator certificate till October 2013.
As of today, the largest shareholders of AeroSvit - Ukrainian Airlines are Gilward Investments B.V. (the Netherlands) and State Property Fund of Ukraine, owning 38% and 22.4% of the carrier's shares respectively. About 40% of shares belong to three Ukrainian companies, in particular GenAviaInvest (24.99%), Investment Advisors Group (9.8%) and Byuro (4.8%).
