Torrens Takes MVP Honours

Alba Torrens was named the MVP of this year's Final Eight

Spanish star Alba Torrens was voted MVP of the EuroLeague Women Final Eight for a second time after winning the title with Galatasaray odeabank on the very same court where she first won it with Perfumerias Avenida three years ago.

A player for the big occasions, it was primarily her spectacular 29-point display in the monumental semi-final success over UMMC which carried her to the individual accolade in what was arguably the pivotal performance of the team's run to the top of the podium.

Torrens just missed out on the MVP award at EuroBasket Women last summer with Spain having been edged out by her national team-mate, Sancho Lyttle.

This time however, Torrens fought off competition from her Galatasaray club colleague and also playmaker Isil Alben who was particularly impressive and the other main contender in the voting.
