Last year's EuroLeague Women semi-finalists Good Angels Kosice have secured important continuity after striking deals which will see Miljana Bojovic and Plenette Pierson both return to the team, along with new signing A'dia Mathie.
Influential playmaker Bojovic has blossomed in recent seasons at the club and has established herself as one of the premier point guards in the competition.
The Serbian finished with the third most assists-per-game last season at 5.5 and was fourth in steals with 2.4 each time she took to the floor. Bojovic had attracted interest from Turkey, but opted to remain with Kosice and will continue to pull the strings in the backcourt.
Alongside her will be a rookie in the shape of Mathies, who is playing in the WNBA for Los Angeles Sparks at present with soon-to-be Good Angels team-mate Farhiya Abdi.
A tenth pick in the WNBA draft, the guard showed her scoring potential with 16.1 points per game during her final year at the University of Kentucky.
Perhaps the biggest coup for the Slovak champions is persuading Pierson to return. Her influence in the locker room and on the court is huge and she was the pivotal figure in the success attained by Koisce last year, when she averaged 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
It means head coach Maros Kovacik now almost has a full roster assembled, since Bojovic, Pierson and Mathies join Abdi, Tijana Krivacevic, Magdalena Zietara, Lucia Kupcikova, Barbora Balintova, Zofia Hruscakova, Beata Janoscikova and Katarina Pindrochova.
