Bulgaria have a a true coaching legend at the helm as they go into the U18 European Championship for Women in Sweden. Stanislav Boyadjiev only just had jubilee celebrations for his two European Cup triumphs as the boss of Levski Spartak. Twenty-five years ago, the team won the European champions Cup and 30 years ago they prevailed in the Ronchetti Cup. Now he has a chance to make an impact with the youngsters as they attempt to maintain their top flight status. "We have had a good preparation for the European Championship," Boyadjiev said. "We've been together since June 6 and we didn't have a day off. "We have a big problem with the big players. We are shorter in height (than our opponents). "The tallest is Hristina Tjutjundjieva (1.88m), but she is two years younger. "She will take a part in U16 European Championship as well. "The other problem is that almost all of the players have no experience at this level, except (Violina) Kocheva. "They have never played in Division A. We have good players on the perimeterr. I know it will be very hard for us but we will try to strike a balance between hope and determination. We will fight to stay in the Division A." Bulgaria squad: Violina Kocheva, Radostina Rasheva, Viktoria Stoycheva, Mirena Dencheva, Pamela Decheva, Nora Georgieva, Hristina Tjutjundjieva, Antonia Yankova, Silvia Ivanova, Katerina Mitzanska, Nikoleta Dimitrova, Monika Todorova, Katrin Nakova. |
