Russia´s 36-year-old veteran Elena Baranova could play for the country again at the Beijing Olympics after being named in a 24-member preliminary squad by women´s national team coach Igor Grudin.
Baranova, a versatile forward who played for Ros Casares this season in the EuroLeague Women, had a solid campaign as Ros reached the quarter-finals.
She played at the last Olympics in Athens and helped Russia capture bronze but has not figured in the national team set-up since.
Three naturalized Americans - Rebecca Hammon, Kelly Miller and Deanna Nolan - are also in the 24-strong group.
Hammon of CSKA Moscow, Miller of Spartak Moscow Region and Nolan of UMMC Ekaterinburg are guards who acquired Russian citizenship after playing in the counry.
Russia won the EuroBasket Women title last season to qualify for the Beijing Games.
