France completed the first cycle of the Classification Round for 13th to 16th Place at the Samsung U18 European Championship with a perfect record, following a convincing 83-62 win over Poland on Wednesday night.
The third win in as many games leaves the French in the box seat to maintain their place in Division A for 2013, whilst Poland have now moved within a loss of elimination, after failing to record a win in the first cycle.
Poland stayed in touch throughout the first half, even leading on six occasions.
However, like they did a night previous against Germany, France stepped up a gear at the beginning of the second half to run away for a convincing win.
Mouhammadou Jaiteh lead France with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Alexandre Chassang had 15 and Kevin Harley contributed 14.
Damian Jeszke was the best of the Polish with 13 points and five rebounds.
In the day's earlier game, Germany recorded their second win to keep the pressure on France, defeating Denmark 75-61.
Denmark hung around for most of the first half but when Germany ended the second quarter on a 9-0 run, the writing was on the wall for the Danish.
Gavin Schilling finished as the Germans' leading scorer with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Ismet Akpinar chipped in with 10 points.
Rasmus Larsen recorded 14 points and eight rebounds for Denmark.
Following a break on Thursday, Classification Round for 13th to 16th Place action will continue on Friday when Poland play Germany and Denmark take on France.
