Center Rokas Gustys and the rest of the Lithuanian frontcourt players did an excellent job on the glass
Lithuania have assured a place in the Second Round of the Samsung U18 European Championship with a game to spare, following their 92-63 victory over Denmark on Friday.
After being given a harsh introduction to Division A basketball from Italy an evening previous, Denmark played much more aggressively against the Lithuanians as their big men drove to the basket with purpose, evidenced by the 21 points from center Rasmus Larsen.
But the same aggression shown by the Danes going to the basket with the ball could not be reproduced as they went searching for it.
Lithuania out-rebounded their guests 58-27, including 34 on offence, leading to 26 second-chance points.
Denis Krestinin ended the night with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double whilst Justas Tamulis topped his team's scoring with 16 points.
Also picking up 10 rebounds was Simas Raupys whilst Rokas Gustys had 15 points and seven rebounds.
Lithuania end the first round stage against Italy in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday while Denmark take on Greece to determine who will be the third team from Group B to advance to the Second Round.
