GAME REPORT

Greece Big Winners Over Bulgaria

Georgios Diamantakos (Greece)
Georgios Diamantakos had a second consecutive double-double for Greece

Greece used three timely individual performances to defeat Bulgaria 88-65 to claim their second straight win at the U18 European Championship.

An 11-point, six-rebound first quarter Georgios Diamantakos kept Greece alive early before a combined 21 points from Alexandros Spyridonidis and Dimitrios Stamatis in the third quarter opened up the game for good.

Diamantakos was dominant again - he registered a second straight double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, after posting 33 points and 15 rebounds in a 74-70 win over Russia on Saturday.

The presence of Diamantakos helped Greece establish a commanding post presence, winning the rebound count 41-29 and a 46-20 points in the paint advantage.

Stamatis added 18 points for Greece and Spyridonidis finished with 12 in Greece's first of the classification stage.

Bulgaria finally received some offensive help outside of small forward Aleksandar Vezenkov (13 points), this time in the form of 18 points from Aleksandar Milov.
