Turkey have stolen a 64-62 win from Latvia in the final minute of the Group F Second Round matchup at the U18 European Championship.
A lay-up from Kenan Sipahi with 53 seconds remaining capped off a 15-point Turkish barrage to end the game in which the guests came back from seven points down with just over three minutes remaining.
The Sipahi basket put Turkey ahead 61-59, their first lead since the opening minute of the quarter.
Kartal Özmizrak and Metecan Birsen then sealed the result at the free throw line.
Latvia again benefited from its staple of big men, controlling a lead for a near 20-minute stretch across the middle two quarters thanks in part to Kristaps Porzingis and Anzejs Pasecniks taking it in turns to carve up the Turkish frontline.
Turkey refused to give up and kept within striking distance before launching into a massive comeback that saw the team score 15 points over the final five minutes of the fourth quarter.
Okben Ulubay scored a team-high 19 points for Turkey.
Latvia were led by Pasecniks' 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots.
