GAME REPORT

Italy Keep Quarter-Final Hopes Alive

10. Simone Fontecchio (Italy)
Simone Fontecchio had a team-high 19 points for Italy

It was not the prettiest of wins, but a 57-37 victory over England has kept Italy in contention for a quarter-finals birth at the U18 European Championship in Latvia.

Poor shooting at both ends capped off a rough offensive evening for both sides, however Italy's slightly more efficient evening proved to be enough to overcome a 26% night from the field for England.

Italy improved dramatically from the field in the final term, blowing out a game that had been within England's reach for much of the encounter.

Italy attempted 34 three-point shots, having at one point in the third term attempted almost as many threes as their 34 team points.

Simone Fontecchio scored a team-high 19 points for Italy while center Kingsley Okoroh bagged eight and 10 rebounds for England.
