Russia have booked a spot in the U18 European Championship quarter-finals with a 68-59 win over Lithuania on Tuesday night.
Lithuania cut a double-digit lead down to seven points early in the fourth before another powerful Russian run ended the short burst of excitement with a 14-6 run.
After a huge loss at the hands of Serbia on Monday night, Russia ended their streak of slow starts with an 11-0 run to start the game. Lithuania fought back into the game when the Russians suffered a stretch of poor shooting, but never led or came closer to the lead than a six-point differential late in the second period.
Viacheslav Fedorchenko led Russia with 21 points while Alexander Martynov impressed playing 37 minutes at point guard on a night in which their team shot 48% from the field.
Ricardas Verbickas topped Lithuania with 15 points.
