FIBA Europe has a Finance Commission, under the Chairmanship of Treasurer Jan Berteling (Netherlands).

The Finance Commission assists the Treasurer, especially in preparing the audited accounts, but also in advising on the financial policy of FIBA Europe.

The challenge for the Finance Commission is to put FIBA Europe on a sound financial footing, while at the same time FIBA Europe is performing its tasks as promoting, supervising and directing basketball in Europe.  FIBA Europe must do an outstanding job in this respect.  It would then also be possible to attract more financial resources.  The Financial Commission has also to oversee, whether FIBA Europe tries to achieve its tasks in the most efficient way.
