|Vilmantas Dilys led the charge for Tartu with 23 points|
Tartu Rock pulled away in the fourth quarter to book their place in the quarter-final play-offs of the EuroChallenge with an 84-73 win over Krasnye Krylia.
After three quarters of intense battle, Tartu found the extra gear when they needed it, outscoring the visitors 22-12 in the final stanza.
Vilmantas Dilys poured in 23 points to lead them there, with Vincent Simpson adding 15.
The first 30 minutes saw 16 lead changes and seven ties as Krasnye Krylia went toe-to-toe with the group leaders.
But after starting the final period with a one-point edge, Tartu pushed on.
Joosep Toome set the tone as he began the fourth period with a three-pointer, and when Dilys added one of his own four minutes in it was 72-65.
Tanel Kurbas then hit two in quick succession as the lead grew to 82-69 inside the final two minutes, enough for Tartu to cruise to the finish.
Kurbas finished with 12 points while Augustas Peciukevicius added 11 while dishing out seven assists.
Filip Videnov and Anton Ponkrashov had 15 points each for Samara, while Larry O'Bannon had four points and two rebounds on his EuroChallenge debut.
While Tartu moved to 4-0 in the Last 16, Krasnye Krylia are at 2-2.
Krasnye Krylia Head Coach Sergey Bazarevich
"We just didn't execute our game plan as we wanted. We missed some open shots and congratulations to Tartu - they had some luck and shot three-pointers really well. Home court advantage had a part in their victory as well. We also lost some players in January and the new players take time to learn the system - I think Tartu has had a bit of luck, but they deserved this one."
Krasnye Krylia Player Anton Ponkrashov
"Most of the game we couldn't score. We played terrible defence and they shut us down with fast-breaks and three-pointers. The first three quarters were actually okay: we moved the ball well. But in the last quarter, Tartu Rock played zone defence and we didn't know how to score in the paint."
Tartu Rock Head Coach Gert Kullamäe
"An excellent game from our guys. We did everything on court as we planned to do. The whole team had a part in this victory, even those guys who were sitting on the bench and cheering us on. I'm proud of Joosep Toome who hasn't played three days because of an injury, but today he showed up big time. They are a really good team individually, but collectively we were better tonight. The only downside in our game were the turnovers in the first half, but we took good care of it afterwards. Zone defence helped."
Tartu Rock Player Valmo Kriisa
"Even though there were some minor flaws in our game, the eventual result speaks for itself. Everyone played one heck of a game. I would want to point out our home crowd - they gave us a huge lift the whole game, the energy... I haven't experienced something like that for a long, long time. Tartu Rock has amazing fans."
