Goran Martinic was once more the top scorer for Mures, complementing his 24 points with eight assists
BC Mures scored the final eight points of the game as they came from behind in the final 90 seconds to beat Rilski Sportist 92-85.
Although both teams knew their hopes of progressing from Group H of the EuroChallenge were over before tip-off, they still served up an engaging encounter and a tense second-half battle.
Mures had fought their way to a 12-point lead when Denham Brown's jump-shot made it 48-36 early in the second half, but even more quickly Rilski reeled off 15 unanswered points - the run capped by a three-point play from Sean Barnette - to turn the tables.
That set up a long scrap to the finish.
Mures had their noses back in front for the most of it, leading 79-70 when Aleksandar Mladenovic sank a pair of free throws with 4:25 to go.
But again the visitors came back and after Zlatin Georgiev's three got them within two, Barnette completed another three-point play from the line to nose them in front with 82 seconds left.
Ivan Jelenic quickly replied with a three to put Mures back on top but they were not done there as Goran Martinic followed up with a three-point play and Jelenic's fast-break lay-up finished the job.
Martinic led the way with 24 points, adding eight assists, while Jelenic had 22 points and Mladenovic 20.
Barnette finished with 24 points and 18 rebounds in the losing cause, while Evan Ravenel scored 21 with nine boards. Vernon Taylor collected 19 points.
