Quotes Reggio Emilia vs. Royal Hali Gaziantep

25.04.2014

Royal Hali Gaziantep Head Coach Jure Zdovc

"First of all, congratulations to our opponents, they played more bravely and were more smart than us. They also surprised me with very good defence tonight and in the end we had 15 turnovers, which is too much for this kinds of game. We had some open shots and the chance to catch them but we didn't score. In the end, I believe they have more individual personalities for this kind of game. My players fought but we didn't share the ball offensively and we don't have the players to go one-on-one, we have to play team offence."

Royal Hali Gaziantep Shooting Guard Mikko Koivisto
"They had a great crowd over here, great support. I thought we fought but it just wasn't enough. We struggled in the beginning in both offence and defence and against a good time like Reggio it's hard when you don't start well. We didn't shoot the ball well, there were a lot of little things that we could have done a lot better. I think we showed some character in the end and tried to come back, but it just wasn't enough today. Reggio is a really good team and they played very well tonight."

Reggio Emilia Head Coach Massimiliano Menetti
"We are very happy for this important win that gives us a lot of confidence. I want to congratulate Gaziantep for their effort. The key was the beginning of the third of the third quarter where we played great defence and on offence we moved the ball looking for the best shot possible. It is an historical win for the city and for the club and we will go to the game on Sunday with the same approach, the same energy and the same focus to try to win."

Reggio Emilia Point Guard Andrea Cinciarini
"It was a tough game against a great team but for us it was very important to win this game because it is the first time in the life of 90% of our team that we are in a Final Four. A lot of fans came from Reggio and gave us huge energy. We approached the game in the right way, playing tough defence and trying to run on the fast break. We played with intensity and energy like the coach asked us in the locker room and then in the last quarter we kept the lead until the end."
